Personality:
Naoko lives in her own little world~ she becomes infactuated with boys pretty easily, both 3-dimensional & 2-dimensional! Naoko is actually a soft-spoken girl and is more likely to stalk/fantasize about the boys rather than confront them. During embarassing situations or when she becomes shy, she has a habit to wrap her hair around herself like a scarf. Naoko sometimes becomes stubborn and denies what is obviously true. Although she's a socially-awkward girl, who's also a bit clumsy, Naoko excels at baking pastries and making sweets unlike her drawing skills.

Biography:
Mr. Mitsui, the president of Mitsui Media (三井メディア), named his baby girl Naoko, meaning 'docile child.' Naoko grew up as daddy's little girl, and was very active and expressive of her emotions. Her mother, owner of a local pâtisserie, was constantly trying to win her over by bribing her with the sweets she made. Although Naoko never admitted it, she loved her mother just as much as her father and loved the attention she got from her mother. Naoko enjoyed helping her mother with making the pastries that would go on sale, and little Naoko quickly became friends of the regular customers at the pâtisserie.

During the summer when Naoko was six years old, she went on vacation with her family to the family villa. However, the weather was dreary and the rain kept coming down during their stay. Naoko was in a glum mood, but her mother cheered her up with some sweets. When the rain slowed down to a drizzle, Mrs. Mitsui invited Naoko to take a walk outside. While on the stroll with her mother, Naoko spotted some colourful wildflowers. Her mother noticed and was eager to pick them for her cute daughter. Unfortunately, the rain had made the grass and dirt very slippery and Naoko's mother slipped down the hill into the lake and drowned.

After witnessing her mother's death, Naoko blamed herself, and distanced herself from her family and friends -- going as far as quitting school and taking lessons at home. Mr. Mitsui busied himself with the company in hopes of distracting himself from the recent death of his wife.

One day, nine year old Naoko picked up a game owned by one of the maids and discovered the world of otome games, where she could restart and redo as many times as possible despite the mistakes she made. Naoko quickly became engrossed in these games, and her father happily gave into her demands as he had not seen her taken interest in anything for a long time.

When Naoko's obsession with otome games, and later shoujo manga and anime, became persistent and did not go away when she became an adult, Mr. Mitsui decided it was time to put a stop to this obsession. Naoko easily fell for her father's words: "Nao-chan, you can find a lot of princes like the ones from your games and manga in high school!"

With her motivation To meet a lot of cute boys and fall in love, Naoko enrolled into Tachikawa High.

- during one her strolls through the garden with her shoujo manga in hand (her father insisted she get some sort of physical activity each day), Naoko rescued a baby albino chipmunk, who she named Nobuharu; Nobuharu has since then became Naoko's closest friend and spends the day watching his master go about in her daily obsessions
- since Nobuharu is not allowed to go to Tachikawa High with Naoko, she has shirts, keychains, plushies, pillows, etc. of Nobuharu
- Naoko fell behind on her studies due to her obsessions so she's a year behind
- Naoko is often seen alone playing games/reading manga on her phone
- Every night, Naoko calls home to 'talk' to Nobuharu; also asks the maids to send a photo of Nobuharu to her cellphone
