Team Pranksters jumps into the fray delivering the second blow to Groudon.((I played off of 's hit a bit in terms of design, so I also added her team, team Attract Into the pic. I did a lot of referencing, and gained some more ideas from the anime, though I used very few anime references in the pick XDD I chose a generic Groudon pose again... and he's a little rushed... I wanted to get the pic done tonight, as I got a feeling I might not be on for a while again....
I'm surprised how long this took! though the background (minus the explosion) is probably my favorite part of the entire piece.... I can't really tell you how long I spent on this... over 24 hours all together for sure .... XD; It was a real challenge, but I wanted to do a decent BG soooo bad!
I do like how this turned out despite the rushing!
also, I used a crack brush by there's alot of awesome brushes there that work for Elements, Photoshop, and Gimp... worth a check out! ))

What an incredible action scene you've made here.
Your ability to make battle effects are spectacular, the dazzling balls of flame glowing as they hurtle through the air, the astoundingly realistic fissures in the earth beneath groudon, and especially that water gun/hydro pump, looking like a whole river in flow as it impacts against the enormous beast's body. The lombre looks appropriate in the scene as well, his grene eyes blazing with determination as he springs into action. You shaded lombre and its bandana in a simply stunning fashion. I am wowed.
Groudon does look a little rushed, but this is mind blowing. Really.

I owe my ability to heavy referencing XDD I put alot of research into things I don't see too often (like lava pool, explosions and the like) everything was referenced to some extent, usualy through photos or by examining other deviations. Looking at lombre now though, she seems a bit flat XD; but still the color mixes seemed about perfect XD; I just need to loosen up a bit more with my values XD; I bet if I grey-scaled this it's look far too flat XD;;

References never hurt. I just about never draw anything without looking at something similar first.

XDD When it comes to fine-tuning for me, I reference... or when I want to make sure to get things as right as possible when planning out a picture XD;; I try to incorporate mor realism as I can because That is what makes a picture pop in my opinion (that and subtle textures, but I gotta take these things in baby steps first XDDD)

Squirtle (me) and Cyndaquil I think, not certain about the partner. I can't remember the team name that time through though. my first one as a treecko was Anti-Doom.
I played through Blue and Time (time portion) a couple times each and they tend to blur!
