You can see my previous take on Shantae here: Shantae GBCIt was about time I brought back my favorite half-genie to the gallery! To be honest, I had this sketch on hold for weeks, but I was busy working other stuff and the idea got behind. But I kept the file around and in my mind, because I knew it would make and adorable artwork.
Until recently I got my hands on the digital copy of the GBC version (of course completing it 100% again ), and also The pirate Curse for 3DS (wich I haven't played in depth, because I'm a purist and would like to play the DSI version first) but I'm digging the artwork and style, throwing a little into the sexy-fanservice side, but it's okay. And by this moment in time, I'm also waiting for the Half genie Hero title for the Wii U, And the Smash Ballot results.... who knows?... a man can only dream with a Shantae Amiibo... (even if it existed, probably would be out of stock too so...)
I also have one question for the ones who played the 3DS version. Was I the only one that thought that I was supposed to do the same task of the warp squids, with the heart squids? So naive
3 heart challenge it is then, I just can't...

I remember those little warp squids from the first shantae game. And then the heart squids from pirate curse. Good times those were.

I wish there was a way to save the squids, but the game would be almost impossible to beat XD Besides, you don't get a choice, they don't serve another purpouse

That is why it is so sad. The developers were like, " How can we give the player more life and piss off animmal right protesters at the same time?" It is sad too because they are so damn adorable too.

The first game had a better mechanic. You collected them to give them back to the mother squid, and in return she would give you a warp dance.

The thing is that the mother squid is apparently color blind. Cause you gave give her baby squid that are a different color from them.

I love Shantae, she's such a cutie! And I love your drawing, such vibrant colors and excellent lighting. I noticed your revised version and saw the inclusion of extra contrast and colors. Really made it pop!

I also added her Vest, from Pirate's curse. It's kinda easy to forger since her original design didn't had it, and that's the one I'm most familiar with XD

Awww! One of Squid Baron's kids found a "new friend" and is presenting her to Shantae. I wonder what he's talking about.
I'd say he's just introducing her, but Shantaer seems surprised with something. Maybe they're asking her to participate on a game that's not exactly safe? Like what Crash and Eddie did to Manny in Ice Age 2.

I made the sketch of this after Playing Pirate's curse. I wanted to make a cute piece of Shantae interacting with two types of squids. I was gonna add a heart balloon above the hearth squid head, but I left it free to interpretation
