Description I have only done about 6 paintings in my life. 3 at high school and 3 last year. This particular one was a gift for a special friend of mines wedding at Coggee Beach in Sydney last year.
I rate myself as a crap to average painter but thought it would be interesting to see what others think.
To me it seems to be lost in style and composition.... I guess it is from inexperience and lack of technical skills.
I always seem to be in such a rush with my artwork and painting proved to be no exception.
Makes me admire the old Dutch artists.

your style is so interesting, it's almost surreal in it's placement

LOVE your painting style. The brush strokes aren't so obvious so at first you get an idea of it being a smoothed digital image.

Overall, it's a great painting and it comes across as rather surreal. Your composition is very appropriate considering the title

in this kind of works the idea is much more important than the way it's been painted. i like the idea very much; i have also thought about it..

I like the painting. It is very calm, although the water is so dark and wavy. But maybe the sky gives into this painting the calmness and peace, because of its beautiful colour and straight lines you used to paint it. I also like the bright yachts that shine on the dark water - amazing effect.

I would be very pleased to receive such a wedding gift

I like the way the Yachts are linked by a shadow.
Nice one Mr Lehmann inventor of the Lehmann clamp!

I think if i were to do a painting called wedding one of the Yachts would be sinking and floundering on the rocks!

Cheers,
You can see a bit of white water and a 3d look to the waves on the mid right side. Like you can start to see into the water.
I remember doing that and thinking.. my God this could take all day.... So i kind of rushed over the rest..
looking now i think it would be cool to spend a whole week or more and just detail it to the max and get the old masters thing happpening.
Its on my TO DO list one day.. This is acrylic paint which im told is not the go for this type of thng... ????????????
Must take a class with someone who knows.

I think it looks great. If I were painting it I would just add more detail. But I am a detail person. Your painting skills are very good
