Description
Tsukihime walked with a bounce in her step through the market place.  Gemma had said that he would teach her the kinds of food she should be eating and how to shop correctly.  It had been about a week since they had started eating lunch and hanging out together more.  Tsukihime wanted to somehow repay Gemma for all that he had done for her, but she did not know how.  On her way to meet him, she scanned the different little shops to see if she could find a present for him, just a little something to say thanks.

"Oi Hime-kun," Gemma smiled and waved from behind a stack of fruit.

'Hime-kun?' it took her a second to realize he was talking to her.  'Who does that stick chewing freak think he's calling 'kun'?'  Figuring that he was just trying to get a rise out of her, she quickly formulated a plan to repay his humor.

Gemma was caught off guard when Tsukihime snatched his mouth ornament from him, sticking it in her own mouth.  She had meant to mock him, but upon putting the object in her mouth, she was met with a surprise.

'Gemma....what is this?'  her hands had dropped from her hips and her face was filled with horrified disgust.  Gemma was too busy trying not to laugh that he could not answer her.

"Pocky?!  All this time it was pocky?  What's wrong with you?  How can you stand keeping a soggy piece of pocky in your mouth for so long??!!" she spat it out and looked around for something to wash her mouth out with.  "Disgusting!"

Gemma had now gained control of himself and handed her the bottle of water that he always had handy, "It's something tasty that also helps me focus.  I like to lick of the chocolate first and then just keep it for a while.  Do you know how challenging it can be to keep it all in one piece without breaking it?"

"Whatever Gemma," she straightened up and looked at him.  After seeing the silly smile that had graced his face, she just had to laugh.  He had probably known what she was going to do the whole time and just let it happen.

"Oh...you have something on your face, I think it's spit."

"What?! Eww disgusting!  Where is it....where...where?" she hated having anything on her face and Gemma probably knew this.

"Here let me get it..." Gemma started to reach for her face as she began to get nervous.  "Just kidding!"

"Why you?!  You'd better be kidding, cuz if there's something there I'm gonna kill you!" she waved her fist as she chased Gemma into the store.  'Goodness, is he lively today or what?' she wondered as she was suddenly reminded of Kakashi, 'He used to tease me like this.  Actually, no!  He was much worse that idiot!  Oh am I ever going to get him......if he ever even looks at me again.'  Lately, she had noticed herself becoming more and more depressed, even though at times she was happier than she had ever been before.  She felt that something was missing, but what was it.  Family? No she had been without them for many years now.  Friends?  No, she seemed to get along nicely with the other jounins and Gemma was always around.  "Love?" she thought aloud as she bumped into Gemma.

"Are you feeling alright?" he looked down at her.  "You look a little down."  He cupped her shoulder with his hand as passing customer begin to stop and stare.

"Aww how cute," an older woman swooned.

"I remember my youth, filled with passionate love like that," an older man reminisced.

Gemma and Tsukihime just looked at them wide eyed, and then realized the signal that they had been giving off.  "Let's get to shopping," Tsukihime tried to find an escape as the two of them detached themselves.

"Aww look.  Their out going grocery shopping together," the woman continued to admire them.

"They must be living together, which means he must be getting some... heh heh?" the old man tried to laugh but soon found himself coughing.

"What do you mean getting some????!!!  Are you saying that you want some too???  Some of that girl???!!"  the older woman, who had proven herself to be his wife, began to hit him mercilessly with her purse.

"Well that was awkward," Tsukihime breathed a sigh of relief when finally gotten out of view.

"Do you really think we look like a couple?" Gemma asked nonchalantly.

"Eeto.... what exactly do you mean?"

"Don't tell me you haven't noticed before?"  Gemma had seen that Tsukihime had no idea what he was talking about.  "We have been getting that kind of attention for a long time.  Just this time, they actually said something."  While Gemma spoke, she found herself watching his lips as his mellow voice filled her ears.

'That must be what I'm missing,' she had gone into a daze.  "Love"

"Oi Hime-kun, that's the second time you've said that word today.  What's on your mind?" Gemma was somewhat perplexed.

"Huh?  What? Oh nothing, don't worry about it," she turned her face away to keep him from seeing her blush.

Noticing that she was trying to hide something, Gemma felt the child within him awaken again, "Hime-kun..."  He tugged at her long hair, forcing her to turn around.  "Oh my, your face looks flushed," he loved making women blush.  "Do I embarrass you?" he had an innocent smile on his face as he moved closer.

"Stop it Gemma.  I don't know what you are talking about. It's just a little warm in here that's all."  She protested as she tried to look away from him.

"Do you want to date me?"

Tsukihime had been caught off guard.  She did not expect Gemma to be this forward.  Sure she had just begun to have strange feelings for him, but she was not yet sure what that meant.  Even when he was teasing her, it seemed so familiar.  She even secretly kind of liked the nick name he had given her that day.  However, she needed time to figure it all out, but he was asking her now.

"Yes..." she managed to choke out.

"Wha..." Gemma did not expect her to take him seriously.

She collected all the courage she had and responded again, "Yes Gemma, let's go out."  Having failed with Kakashi, she never wanted to pass up her chance again.

"Ok, if you say so,"  Gemma had not meant for this to happen, but he thought it might be an interesting turn of events.

"O...kay," Tsukihime realized what had just happened.  She was now dating someone for the first time, and had no idea what to do.

"Cut the cute act and quit being shy already.  Let's finish this shopping and maybe later I can teach you how to cook for me," he laughed as he grabbed her hand, dragging her excitedly around the store.
