A very powerful image.
I love the composition, the lighting*, the frizzy and curly hair
but most of all i love the expression. I definitely sells the image =]
The skin tones are lovely and the black and white works, but not as well as it
could. To explain that i'll talk about lighting first.
I think the image is underexposed somewhat. I think that the dark effect
works wonders but i just think there isn't enough contrasts between highlights
and shadows to make the image really dynamic. Like you see in a lot of
black and white photography. I think when the image is a bit darker
you lose detail, and sometimes that detail is essential to the image.
I love the eyes, need more detail with the eyes =]
So my advice would be to open the original back up in Shop and play around with
it. I dunno, i really like the image, but i just think the lighting is a bit flat.

I love this one a lot, when I first saw it I thought it was a tradition drawing,lol! The eyes really pull you in and keeps your focus, making you feel the intensity of the overall photo. Very nice work!

I like the picture; black & white is a classic.
Might I suggest enhancing the picture? I have Paint Shop Pro 11 and there's a feature on there called 'Fade Correction'. It does wonders to considerably brighten up the light shades and deepen the shadows.
