A reworked, more finished version of my drawing from last night. A woman with a black raven on her shoulder, pulling at her hair. The title is from Edgar Allan Poe 's famous poem "The Raven". Graphite and pencil sketch.

In this drawing, the raven is meant to symbolize torment: the things that cause us grief and depression and and exhausting, unrelenting anxiety. As I'm not used to drawing birds, I used a reference photo for the raven (well, it was actually a crow; I decided on the title later), but I i'm still not quite happy with the result. It's supposed to look dramatic and menacing, not like a friendly pet bird!
