Maxima's particular wand was from a smaller wandmaker, rather than Ollivander's. The shape is not as attractive as other wands, and is more roughly shaped rather than a smooth, narrowly conic shape with a fine point. However, the wood is finely polished and finished well, bringing out the more attractive qualities of black walnut wood. Max finds the asymmetrical shape enjoyable to hold.

Through a lot of events, Maxima has come to terms with a lot of things and grew with a very grounded, sincere personality and had become more mature than the past few years, to the point that she can now honestly be silly and playful and shrug off her own contempt for herself, instead of trying to deceive her own mind into allowing a situation to be able to handle itself. She tries as often as possible as to not let her past guilt get the better of her (it sometimes comes back to haunt her even today, bringing out depressive traits of herself that she's been fighting with), and projects this will in her bold personality to face life head-on.

Although she takes her duties somewhat seriously and doesn’t fail to complete them, she tries taking things as light-hearted as possible, and only ever rarely wearing a scowling expression, so she cracks terrible jokes or puns when the opportunity arises, and tries to get some sort of fun out of a task. Adding that she really, really loves snacking at any given moment, this often paints her to be seemingly lazy and messy. ( ‘But that isn’t the case! I lick my fingers clean and I don’t leave a single plate dirty!’, she argues, as she bites into her cookie, raising concerned looks from both students and teachers alike. She's being honest.) Due to strongly yearning for something enjoyable in her life (as most of her childhood was not very enjoyable with others), she's even childish in some aspects, especially when she does get a stroke of mischief and impulsively starts being silly or become gullible.

For the first eleven years of her life until going to Hogwarts, she had been raised with much love and care, although muggle school had been slightly difficult due to her peers teasing her baby-like face. While she hadn’t been minding the teasing from her parents much, how girly she seemed in contrast to claiming herself as ‘male’ had bothered her, as it became the focus of why she was bullied more and more each passing year in grade school. Sometimes, this ended up in fights, in which about 50% of the times, Max emerged victorious, though she had been scolded in any of those times for doing so.

Holly had been more positive to Max that she was fine the way she is, and Ingus was more supportive in helping Max affirm her masculinity, as Max soon grew in disgust of her strangely feminine traits, and insisted that she partake in activities such as soccer and the Boys’ Scouts. Aside from her Muggle-raised life, Maxima was all the same curious and in wonderment of her parents’ lives, reading their wizardly books (but then become confused from the massive jargon in them, and just looked at any of the pictures that they had and asked endless questions about them).

It was when she became eleven, she looked with surprise when both of her parents took explained that she was going to a magic school, and while she did remember that she was jittering at the thought of being away from home for a while, she was more excited at the prospect of seeing new things and, being away from the bullied life for a while. Departing on the Express made her feel like she was going on a grand adventure, and while she hadn't interacted with others at first, she was swiftly moved to Gryffindor.

Although, what she hadn’t expected was that some students would also point out how meek Max was at times, and point out that she had a more feminine face than most of the boys, both of which Max was very mindful of. Until she was sixteen, with only occasional help from her parents, she had sometimes struggled with her subjects and instead of relying on her peers (let alone hang around them after they first teased her), she was usually by the side of a seventh or sixth year student, finding their mature company more calming and less prone to teasing. Max, during that time, had a rather extremist view of herself as a male, and when she was fourteen, she was friends with a particular seventh year who had interests in psychology and how minds worked.

While Max was childish in berating her for partaking in 'gross girly activities', the seventh-year student challenged Max in why wearing flowers was shameful, if it made anyone looked pretty… And for the first time in a while, Max contemplated, struggling to find a good answer against her views then. Why was long hair supposedly girly if some of the male professors had long hair? Why would Max hate the idea of wearing more feminine clothing? Why did nail colors come in blue as well as pink and why would both colors look pretty cool on the seventh year’s nails? It didn’t give Max the thought of quietly hating the way she was born any less during the time, but, it gave a new light on her perspective.

And then she came out to her parents when she came home as a fifteen year old, affirmed that after much thinking in between studies and consulting to the more quieter and accepting students, she truly didn’t need to force ideas that she had to be male, and admitted to liking and asking to discover more feminine aspects of herself, as ‘there was nothing wrong with that, is it?’

It was met with very unexpected reactions, and Max wondered why back then that she hadn’t expected her parents to react so strongly to elicit a divorce.

Holly had a negative reaction over Max, yelling to the point that Max had stood dazed and shocked that the most important person in her life could ever strongly insist that Max would always be okay the way she was, through all the letters she had wrote about her struggles and experiences--but Max had the impulse to yell back with all the bottled up shame she had endured, and Ingus could do nothing but stand slack-jawed in the living room with the both of them, more surprised than Max having the audacity to suddenly stand up for herself. He had never seen Max so fired up, and had never seen Holly so distraught at once.

“Ma, I am NOT okay! I haven’t been okay my entire life! Why are you saying that I’ve been fine? I’ve been bullied so many times and I’m always so unhappy with myself, and all you say is that I’m doing fine!” A voice from the young teen suddenly erupted, feeling fear rise in her chest--but the adrenaline she felt was exhilarating, somehow. The tolerance that Max had endured and taken on for so long, bursted.

The household fell silent, and for the rest of that break, the new sixth-year student ‘Max’ Cwen had gone back to Hogwarts earlier than her break should have ended, leaving Ingus and Holly to themselves, and that sixth year had been the longest time for her, but, with that newfound courage, she found it only right to come out to the school as well.

Whilst Max had been taking her classes and legally changed her name over the sixth year and had many cosmetic experiments, her parents had divorced a month after she came out, arguing over the way they would raise Max, and this was met with concern to outside family members. With the two unable to live with the other, Ingus moved in his brother’s place, continuing his work as a herbologist.

Ingus noticed that Max grew out her hair since the fifth year, but stared at her eyebrow piercings for a moment with some concern, but disregarded it; after all, Max herself knows best how she feels, and no matter what, he can’t begin to imagine what she was thinking, even if he was her father. Even if she shaved off her eyebrows and got piercings. He couldn’t argue since he had a tattoo on his concealed shoulder, but now faded from many years.

Life without a mother had been strange, but, Max found herself more free to expression and found some comfort in smiling with her new-found self-acceptance, though when she heard that she had been selected to become Head Girl, she screamed, making Ingus jump a bit as he held a box of herbs. Her? Head Girl?

Was it even appropriate for her? ...Actually, yes, being bold and giving out pep talks and talking with people (she was chatty to those she warmed up with) was her thing, but surely, there were more better candidates for this...position. The appointed Head Girl slightly grimaced and held the paper as far from her face as possible, as if it were contaminated with the most foulest of fouls, and Ingus could only laugh as he assured that it might be a good opportunity to spend her final year with a bang.

Views on the worsening Magical and Muggle relationships:
Personally she has no problem with Pure Bloods to Muggle aspects of society and lifestyle, since she enjoys them both, but for the whole situation, she says it’s likely that something very large could happen since the relations are really, really bad at the moment. Max doesn't feel confident enough to say more on the subject. She isn't too concerned about her father, since his job is already low-profile and that her family had always been very secretive about magic, but sometimes it still bugs her if he's okay or not.
