Description
Finally got to return to Bombo after not being there for almost 3 years, despite it only being half an hour away now!Went there with a group and they brought along some steel wool.
This image is a stack of two exposures: One for the foreground/steel wool and one for the background milky way. I have a few of these stashed away for the moment, I'll ration them out with all my other work
But for now, enjoy

It was super fun! Almost dropped my gear a few times, stubbed many toes (thank god for sneakers) and stepped in a few puddles. But with results like this, it's hard to argue!

It's even better in real life! I totally recommend playing with steel wool one day. Photos cannot do it justice. It's such a surreal sight to see!

Thanks for the information! Hmmm how would I actually create the effect with steel wools though? I want to do it safely so I don't set anything on fire. o___o

You have to set it on fire.
The steel wool is stuffed inside the end of a whisk attached to a metal chain dog leash.
Once the wool is on fire you swing it around and sparks go flying. It's spectacular to watch.
