Here is an initial study of a sweet little gecko for a colour work I am planning. I usually start with a close representation to the reference material to familiarise myself with the subject. Only once I'm comfortable that I understand the character and structure of the subject will I try to stylise it....
The drawing itself is a bit clunky, but it's a process thing
