How did you paint the background? With the subtle splotches? Like, how did you blend them so nicely?Β
This is wonderful <3 The art of watercolors has escaped me, haha.Β

To be honest, this drawing reminds me more of Beleg (aka Cuthalion) 'Strongbow'.
Either-way, it's lovely! Β

Beautiful work! I have always pictured Legolas as golden-haired (not blonde as in the movie) but I love seeing him with the darker hair. He looks so focused and like he is actually out there fighting and being injured and mussing his hair for his people not like he is just showing off.
The style is so perfect for Tolkien's work...
Thank you,
Shire Rose

I love the textures! Is this real watercolor and ink or is it like Corel Painter? If that's the real deal, hats off to you! Gorgeous, bright, sharp colors and, either way, love the line art.

Wow, that's doubly amazing then. Do you ink first with non-soluable ink then watercolor or do you put down the watercolor first? Out of curiosity.

My earlier works, including this one, are made color them first and then add ink outlines. now i more than a year have changed technique, I ink them first and then color.

Wonderful, and much closer to how I've pictured him than the blond version in the movies.

Simply love your Legolas. Wow, I'm impressed with your art. So beautiful and with such wonderful details that give the picture so much life and expression. As a Tolkien fan, I can honestly say that I believe he would have loved these.

I have nothing against movie-Legolas, but I prefer him to be brown haired. Beautiful, autumn feeling is great!

Your works are awesome! A real inspiration! Keep 'em coming!
Just one thing , and please don't consider me a jackass for stating this . But the way archers shoot their arrows... they simply do not hold their index fingers over the arrow (very uncommon, for a skilled archer does not let go of the string anyway, so the arrow doesn't fly off even by mistake; the arrow is simply placed traditionally over your hand to rest and also take aim easily. It's a way of "not loosing aim and tempo" while shooting) . Now don't you think it's "that bad" because of this.
If you desired to draw it exactly like that, then it's your credit. It's even fantasy so you would probably say "why the heck does this guy care".
It's brilliant in any case, your technique, your style and all.
I was just stating my mind over the bow & arrow facts. ....Simply because I'm an experienced archer in real life (and medieval re-enactment festivals)
Have a great day and a very creative year!

Very well made. A masterly use of leaves. I like that you dare to make your own Legolas.
