So I was really tired yesterday... (can you tell?)
I slept soundly 'till 3:30a.m., then couldn't get back to sleep. Finally got up at about 6a.m. and was up and going all day and did not have literally a spare moment all day to do art till I finally went to bed sometime after 9p.m. So Thursday officially became my Sabbath from art (though I was thoroughly exhausted in other ways).

I'm trying to find creative ways to cover the *ahem* chest area without putting all my mermaids in cliche clamshell bras... gotta keep it G-rated (I want my art to be innocent enough for children to enjoy without the parents' having any qualms.)

I spent about 45 minutes making the original rough sketch early this evening, then came back to it after a little while and spent another 45 minutes or so to ink and color it (and erase all the rough pencil lines), then a final 5-10 minutes to touch-up a few bits and add the finishing flares. By the way, I LOVE my brush pens!!! They are so smooth and fun and flowy. This, by the way, is the first "MerMay" piece where I actually FINISHED the whole piece of art in one day and didn't have to leave it as a "work-in-progress." Yay!!!

I'm going to try to keep up (6 days/week) with my own personal "MerMay" challenge, so be forewarned that for the rest of this calendar month, I'll probably be cranking out nothing but mer-folk-related art.
