Description Edit 1/20/12 -Added more sprites. Blank palettes can be found here . The last version can be found here .
Edit 1/3/12- Edited the hair... finally and removed some artifacts. The old version can be found here. You can also find a comparison with the Jin Sprite here.

I am sad and I have no life. I have actually never seen Blazblue Radio and I am not a super big fan of the chibi sprites but I was messing around with the dock icons on my mac and I thought that these sprites looked super sweet as icons. So then I felt I really needed a Ky icon and I couldn't find any, so I made one. I feel like this is something that should already exist somewhere but I can't find anything so if anyone else can, then point me in the right direction.

Also does anyone have any ideas for expressions for him?

Oh, here's some suggestions:

In general, most bodies have blank faces so you can add whatever. They sometimes have arms raised or sword drawn.

Faces I like, <-anything by Onion actually, click there for ideas.

I also like Robo-Ky face, and Evil Insane Ky, Tea Time Pose, and maybe a blushing pose or something silly.

You probably missed it because when I initially uploaded it I gave it a very misleading preview image and I uploaded it to the scraps.

Thank you for the Onion link. I am not very good at drawing exaggerated expressions so the refs really help. And thanks for the ideas, I am pretty art blocked right now but I added some more expressions for you (mostly copy-paste and easy to draw ones since I am lazy and I don't want to redo poses from scratch right now) and I uploaded some of the blank palettes. I'll go for other poses and expressions later.

I love how you made this.
I want to know if there is an easier way to
sprite/edit those Chibi sprites?

I am glad that you like them!

As for your question, could you be a little more specific... By "those" sprites do you mean the Blazblue ones, these Ky sprites, or are you planning to make your own sprites similar to these?

I mean Blazblue sprites. Is there an easier way to edit the chibi characters?

Aaaah, I see, sorry about that...

I am going to assume you have the sprites already but just in case you don't you can find them on ~ZenUnited 's page over here or on the Sprite Thread on Dustloop .

I don't know if there is really an easy way to edit the sprites since the only real option you have to edit the sprites would be to draw over the existing ones. That said, to get the cleanest lines I would suggest using the pen tool to draw the lines and the polygonal lasso tool (or paths again) to fill in the colors. If you are using Photoshop then this tutorial may help you. The cool thing about those two tools are that they do not require a tablet and once you get used to drawing lines this way it is very quick and efficient. Also since the style of the sprites is very simple you'll have even more going in your favor and building the paths should be very simple. If you do have a tablet you could also just use the brush tool and draw on top of them that way.

I used the polygonal lasso tool for this whole sprite for the most part and it was pretty easy but I had to deal with my lines not coming off as straight as they could be or as uniform but I think they still turned out pretty good. If I had to redo it I would probably use the pen tool though as it is much easier to use in the end and the paths can always be edited later on.

I don't know whether that qualifies as easy but hopefully that answers your question somewhat...

Looks great, love the other expressions too! He looks really close in style to Jin's chibi, just the hair kinda doesn't match to me. but over all it's amazing work!

Thank you for the comment and the small crit, I appreciate it

I know what you mean about the hair. Looking back, I think it is because instead of curving smoothly it bends at a jagged angles. Luckily for me that doesn't sound too hard to touch up..

No problem! I would love to see this in a blazblue radio show, Ky makes a guest appearance! LOL, that would be kinda cool
