Huh, I always imaginated fem!Vimes with long hair tied tightly in high ponytail. With genderswaping I'm usually giving them reversed haircut, because if character as male wanted to emphasize his gender with short hair, he would also like to do so as a woman and thight ponytail is just as practical as short hair. Except for Vetinari, because he doesn't give a fuck. I've even tried to make her short pony tail or a bun but my imagination is stuck with exactly the same haircut as male version. And also maybe except for Carrot.

I was just thinking about Vimes' personality-- I feel like even as a woman she'd sort of disdain her appearance? He's described as having an aura of scruffiness, so I imagine her just hacking off her hair so it wouldn't get in her face. It doesn't really matter? I prefer having short hair myself so that's probably part of it as well ahaha

He was, but he looked like that on purpose, and he certainly cares about his appearance when it gets to snobbish clothes. And dude, with such ponytail no hair are getting on one's face. Well and it's nicer to draw long hair :v easier for sure.
