Is this an illustration of feeling broken as in ..."all the kings horse & all the kings men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again".
There does seem to be a wall, & a crowd gathered left towards the bottom next to the wall I see.
The bottom seems to be flag on staffs or rides carrying their banners. The whole piece makes me thing of Jousting matches in Medieval times (movies).

there seems to be a tangle of many different levels or formations, kind of confusing to me like I would have to start orientating myself....on the right side there are 3 figures standing (the King's Men?...if they were they would be lost in this level shifting surroundings), they are at the beginning of an important task or adventure...denouement or risk incalculable....

In Ireland it's called "Little Christmas" parents give their children gifts (I just found this out from our Irish guest).
But in Mexico & with the Spanish Speaking community Jan 6 is "El Dia de Los Tres Reyes Magos" or "Three Kings Day". It is the day we celebrate the 3 wise men coming to honor the baby Jesus with gifts of Frankincense, Myrrh & gold. We traditionally make "Pan de los Reyes" or "Kings Bread" where a baby clay Jesus (or a hard candy) figure is tucked in & who ever finds it gets to be King for a day.
Like in the Irish tradition the parents give each of their children one small gift. This is a very important day in the Hispanic Community. Though it seems to be losing it's hold over Americans of Mexican decent.
The Last day of the Christmas Holiday come on Feb. 2 that is the day set aside to give gifts to anyone who gave you gifts in Christmas that you did not gift a gift to. It's also the day the Christmas things get stored away. All of these are Feast Days.

Especially interested in that Jan 6th is the day the Three Wise Men made it to the stable and I love the 'King for a day' concept. Does whoever is 'King' get special treatment from the rest of the family?

Yes, best setting in the house, gets off doing chores, orders people around so long as it is in good nature & not mean spirited. It's just a feel good day for all concerned.
