I remembered the song "In My Arms" by Plumb and I realized how well it described their relationship.

Kanzo is extremely over protective of Nashi to the point where she will neglect her own well-being to keep her safe from harm.
The song is referring to a mother watching over and protecting her child from inevitable dangers which I thought paralleled nicely
