" The ruins of a mosque Seyit Jamal Etdin -" House of Beauty " can be seen 12 km from Ashgabat. It has history of more than five centuries.  At the mausoleum, near the entrance arch  two impressive dragons were previously depicted ("azhdarha"), stylistically reminiscent of the tradition of imperial China. Scientists reasonable notice that these "beings" and their images are known - as a taboo for the architects of Islam, but could be viewed as the totem of one of the Turkmen tribes.
Ornamental mosaic border, and Arabic script on it, is a characteristic of the Chalcolithic painted pottery and patterns of Turkmen carpets. According to legend, dragons have received such a high honor because they protected the peace of the city residents.
A significant part of the mosque in 1948 due to a strong earthquake strucked down, and with it unique images of dragons which once adorned the portal of the mosque turned to peaces. "

Absolutely stunning sky!
I love the gradient from blue to yellow in the sky, it's really vibrant!
The yellowish foreground also fits very well.
I also like the motive.
I think it was a good choice to have the sky in the most part of the photo because the sky is for me the thing that makes this photo really interesting.
But think the image composition would be a bit more stronger if you had moved the camera just a bit so that the moon would be in the middle and not slightly on the right side of the photo.
It must have been great to see this in real life

Love the big sky feel going on, and I'm always a sucker for shots with the Moon. I really enjoy all of the details in there when I full screen - was this a big photo stitch? I think my only criticism would be the watermark. I understand the need to protect one's work, but perhaps it would be worth using one of your own design that could be a bit more subtle than da's one? The sky is a big part of this image and da's watermark really interrupts that.

(comment month) I don't know what to think about this pic : perhaps too far from the main subject ? And too much sky ?

What a gorgeously captured image to punctuate the fascinating history of this ancient place and it's awesome architecture. It is very intriguing to read the incongruities in the details of the structure that seem to cross the lines between the various spiritual beliefs of those who constructed and used the site. Mankind seems to create as many mysteries as nature does.
