Description
A fairly quick build from earlier in the year - an A-wing customised for racing. This was born out of the lovely background detail of starfighter racing in the Star Wars: Bloodlines novel.Star Wars, of course, does not belong to me.

I really love this idea! Reminds me of the old warbirds converted into racers like the F8F Bearcat, P-51, and Goodyear Corsair that compete at the Reno Air Races. I love the color scheme and your take on the vertical stabilizers looks sick! Also, the addition of retractable landing gear is always a plus.

Glad you like it! I'm not very familiar with air races, so I admit to coming at this entirely through Star Wars! It's a nice idea though, finding a more constructive use for things developed as war. I kind of feel that Star Wars needs to embrace that a bit more often than it does!
I was very happy with the stabilisers on this model, so I'm very happy they stand out to you - really need to see if I can get more mileage out of the technique in the future . . .
