"There we go. He is shiny and all perfect." Aileen added as she checked the tack and gave some treats to Smokie before their turn. While the young gal still had fear of most of the horses but she started to build up a trustful relationship with the roan stallion. Even if Smokie usually was hot headed, and had some surprising moments to make the day more interesting, he started to like the young woman quite a lot. He even showed her more his seal plushie.
"Thanks a lot. You think this old fox is ready too, inspector?" John added, putting the helmet on his head, while Aileen chuckled.
"More than perfect, but you already knew my answer." she replied shortly, but continued wifb a question.
"I haven't seen Ray with his steed after all... You think he really decided not to compete after all?" seeing someone who was quite familiar, even if you know him more from stories you hear, but knowing he is a dressage person he might could have shown something she hasn't seen before.
" Possibly yes. He is a nice guy, he was there for some classes I had with the guys back at Lexus. He was hard-working but... Well, I would say he is like Mario a bit. Not that much of a drama but surely similar." John explained, while he tried to tell how a bad luck-prone person is Ray, without saying anything bad.
" Ah I see. But he surely have time for shows this year. We shall see." Aileen added as she watched the previous rider finishing their round.
" Well, I am sure you can ask him later on about his plans and tricks. We still have some days here and if I am right, he might be around for a while too. Good thing he can at least help his horse with getting used to this show ambient." John added, jumping up to the saddle as his number was called and led Smokie to the arena.
" Come on boy, let's do this." he added, giving a friendly pat to his horse's shoulder.
