They're such funny shaped dogs. So here's what I came up with
Also because I rarely seem to do any personal anthro themed work wanted to fix that!

It wasn't easy moving to the big city for a small town pup. He'd been working for a newspaper on the outskirts of Nowheresville for years, trying to earn a living. But there's only so many times you can cover the same beat, the same stories of cats stuck in trees. At least he knew when to call it quits and move on.
So here he was, sitting in a trendy coffee shop like some kind of yuppie, stirring a cup of something that was supposed to be 'coffee, black', yet only the barista could pronounce. He was working on a story for the city's 2nd largest newspaper, something about a big shot lawyer and enough hush money payments to make even the dirty cops in this town suspicious. With a nose for investigative reporting, this could be the break he was looking for. The fact that the big shot lawyer's office was across the road from a coffee shop was just a perk.
He sipped the bitter brew, decided to add one sugar, then stopped in mid-stir as he looked out the window. Something caught his eye. No, more like someone caught his eye. In a city of all breeds, he'd recognize the sway of that fluffy tail anywhere as she climbed the steps to the building across the street. Never taking his eyes off of his former high school sweetheart as she entered the lawyer's den, he couldn't stop himself from whispering her name.
"Squirrel..." as the door closed behind her.

I actually have a sight hound as a character in a story I'm working on. She's a Hortaya Borzaya. I believe they're a distant relative of the Borzoi.

My Hortaya Borzaya is married to a Sakhalin Husky. (They're probably extinct by this writing. I think there were only two left about 5 years ago and they were siblings.)
