This is a surprise gift (I mean I think most gifts are surprises but .. it's especially out of the blue) for marcoide7 , whose art is amazing and I just couldn’t resist tackling Tempest! Back during his contest I chose Breeze because then I felt like it was the only one of his characters I could draw (their designs are so detailed!!!), but since then my artistic skill (and confidence) has greatly increased. SO…

I tackled Tempest!

It was a very interesting time, trying to match the various shades of grey in Tempest’s design. I had to do some creative layering of colored pencils in order to get close enough to my satisfaction. Plus the auroras of his wings are SO PRETTY ... but so hard to draw properly XD

The idea for this piece I had was to draw Tempest, wearing sleighbells, and then it kind of evolved to also add Christmas lights because I had no idea what to do for the background. Overall, I'm very happy with how it turned out! I don't usually do Christmas lights or anything but they complement Tempest's colors very well.

I tackled Tempest!
