This is a tribute to one of my best friends who went to Ghana for the summer to help teach in a local school. Out of the 400+ pictures she showed me, I picked this one to draw and give to her as a gift. It was fun at first but got very tedious at the end seeing how I was drawing almost directly from a reference.As always my camera really does not do the picture justice and messes up the contrast.

well, for the hair... you know, this typical rough and curly hair blacks have... I just thought it looked a little too smooth, but I believe you that it is hard to do

They were wearing that rough cotton material that is very stiff so it makes sense.
