And this time, the Titanic didn't sink... you know... Having a few HUNDRED unicorns, and that's not even counting the pegasi for some extra help.

In over a year... a LOOOOOOT of ''shit'' happens, ok ?
After some time, people tend to stop caring about this or that issue, and don't really especially care about some of those said issues. Got that ?
Going, quite out of your way I must say, to write a big 'Wall of Text' about a '1 sentence' statement I made more than a year ago now is... well... It really wasn't necessary you know ? Going that far, I mean.
*rubs temples* Especially going to the point of adding Historical stuff about the WHOLE Titanic thing, complete with crew members/Captains-ships-timing-navigation route(s)-etc... I mean, for Pete's sake ? Was that ALL absolutely necessary ? Seriously ?
It seems like quite the waste of time... You could have made your point, whatever your point was (I'm honestly not sure ?), in probably 2-3 concise sentences, you know ? -_-
-----
Also, just for some extra points... and because I'm a bit annoyed about how unnecessary this whole thing is, right now :
There was a bit over 1000 passengers on the Titanic. If we cut them into 3, we get around 300+ Unicorns/Pegasi/Earth Ponies. From that point, even considering the various levels of physical (wing)strength for the Pegasi or magical for the Unicorns... We still have a LARGE majority of ponies that wouldn't die, be saved by magical means/transported(even if P:Earth = 1:1). Most unicorns, even weak ones, can use some minor levitation (at least enough for themselves, until they reach a safe platform), for a while.
And, about your last sentence, I say the same to you. It would have saved BOTH of us, time and energy.

Your criticism must naturally assume every unicorn is Twilight Sparkle, and every pegasus is Rainbow Dash.
Sure, if there were some pegasi out on aerial patrol, or if a few unicorns had RADAR spells, then the Titanic might have never struck the iceberg. But given that night was moonless and hazy, with a glass-smooth sea, spotting the iceberg in time would have been damn near impossible under normal circumstances, just like IRL.
Once the ship was struck and mortally damaged, her sinking would almost be certain even WITH magically empowered ponies. I don't think you really understand or appreciate just how heavy the Titanic was and just how quickly her 5 forward compartments flooded all the way to the top.
The average unicorn in MLP-FiM isn't very powerful at all. Maybe Twilight could hold up the front end of the ship for a few hours until help arrived, or even magically weld the disjointed hull plates back together, but she might not be on the ship that night. Recall that the typical unicorn from the show only has simple telekinesis and perhaps one or two spells related to his/her special talent. Even if there are some pony metallurgists aboard the ship, they would have fight through five flooded compartments filling with bone-freezing 28*F seawater. Successful repair is hardly guaranteed.
Failing that, and going the hold-the-bow-up strategy, recall that the Titanic's dry weight was just under 50,000 tons and she was getting heavier every second as seawater rushed in. Perhaps, if every unicorn on board focused all their magic on the bow of the ship, enough weight could be relieved to slow the inrush of water that help from the Carpathia or the Californian could arrive in time for rescue, but that is hardly guaranteed either. Speaking of which...
The Californian was closest, only about 10-15 miles away, and should have been the first ship to respond. Only, her wireless operator was asleep, and the officers on deck never responded to Titanic's distress rockets. It likely may have been a while before an officer from the Titanic finally ordered a pegasus to just *fly* to the Californian and call for help in person. Even then, the Californian had stopped for the night because she was surrounded by pack ice. After finally receiving Titanic's distress call (in person), she would still have to try to maneuver around all the pack ice before she could steam toward the Titanic. It could have taken Californian up to two hours to reach Titanic, by which time she'd be breaking up and going under.
And that, finally, leaves the Carpathia. Despite the fact that Captain Rostron was actually on the ball that night and the Chief Engineer Johnston managed to coax Carpathia's aging engines up to 17.5 knots (up from her rated maximum of 14), the ship was still nearly four hours away and nothing could change that. So unless Titanic's pony passengers could hold up the ship for a several hours longer than in real life, events would still play out as they did here on Earth.
Sure, the pegasus ponies could fly to safety, but you can't assume they could carry all the other ponies with them.
TL;DR: unless the Titanic avoided hitting the iceberg altogether, it's most reasonable to assume most of her pony passengers would still be f*cked.
