Send us the rain, too!!! It is still hot but not quite as bad as it was a few weeks ago. I'm amused at how our perception/toleration of the heat has changed over the three months we've been here. The first month we had a few 95 degree days and we were melting! Now after temperatures over 105 & 110 we have a 95 degree day and think "oh, this is nice!"

I guess you can get used to anything after a while if youβre in good health. If I could I would send you some heavy dark rain clouds, Iβm sure that would feel nice and fresh after such a period off hot weather!!! I love sunshine but canβt stand the heat !!! So I guess I canβt complain about the bad summer we had.

From what I remember of winter (I went to college about 50 miles from here down in the Sacramento Valley so it will be SOME different) there will be quite a bit more rain and it will be colder than in Southern California. And I've gotten a bit of conflicting comments when we ask about snow...it snows for sure about 15 miles further into the mountains, but here a 1500 feet altitude it only very rarely will snow, and then it won't stay around. But it will be colder than we are used to. My daughter is already beginning to look at warmer winter clothing - in the past a "winter" jacket to her was a heavier sweatshirt

It will be a new experience for all of you. But like you say, you get used to everything after a while and if itβs not too extreme cold you can handle it by nice warm clothing. When itβs too hot, itβs too hot, not much you can do about it, except go and lay in the bath with some ice cubes .
