I think this a bit more than just "inspiration" but it doesn't matter... I also don't think you can compare them cause mine one is a portfolio layout and this one an "overdone" community layout.

You can compare them since they are both web layouts. The great thing about web design is regardless of what it is supposed to be you can do practically anything you want to it as long as it works. Just to be sure I am not saying your version is horrible I just prefer his execution to yours.
