This is a small gift I made for ClaretClarinets of her character Catalyst, who has a gorgeous design!She is a water homunculus, and I had so much fun trying to figure out how to do the waves behind her. I just had no clue.
Claret has helped me a lot as an editor on Reign of Winter and I wanted to make something for her.

Thanks so much! You have a good hand with facial expressions too! They show the personalities very well. To me, one of the biggest flaws of some artists is that, despite being technically awesome, they fail to capture any expressiveness on faces!

Since I have a memory. I started drawing clowns when I was 2 years old, copying a simple design. I stopped drawing for about 9 years and got back to it last year when I got my life sorted about being through some complications.
I am already rather old hahaha

Siempre me pareció super interesante la magia elemental en retratos, y la forma en la que las "olas" complementan la silueta de la chica es magnifica. Me recuerda a algún tipo de carta de personajes, similar a los juegos de fantasía que las obsequian, y el atuendo me hace pensar que es parte de algun tipo de sociedad o tribu que se basa en este tipo de magia. Aunque quizás esa soy yo forzando la perspectiva de avatar en todos los que usan magia elemental

Ella es un homunculo, un humano creado artificialmente con afinidad por el agua. Por ello su atuendo y sus ojos (creo).

Pero suena como una excelente excusa para agregar olas de agua gratuitas a mis retratos cuando no sepa que fondos hacer, que es basicamente más de la mitad de las veces, así que quizás me robe la idea

I'm still in love with how you took one art style and brought it completely into your own while still retaining the original character's beauty. So much talent, and SO MUCH WONDERFUL BLUE!! I'm really digging the hairstyle as well. The browns and blues are so powerful together, I feel like it's a combination you don't often see. Nice job!

Leila she looks so incredible! I love the movement in her hair and skirt, the detail in her eyes. her expression is perfect and captures her personality, and I love the nod to her abilities with the wave in the background.
