VAHAN
Abra || Male
Nature: Lonely
Characteristic:Often lost in thought
Moveset:
-Psychic
-Teleport
-Shadow Ball
-Thunder Wave
Age: Adolescent
Bio:
Vahan was gifted with above-average psychic abilities from birth--and cursed with below-average control, made worse by the fact he had nobody around to teach him any except himself. During a particularly bad night terror this came back to bite him, sending him on an unconscious and unintentional rampage through the forest, injuring many and causing some serious collateral. Mortified, Vahan fled.
He tried at first to deprive himself of sleep so his powers would be weakened and he wouldn't have to worry about being careful, but that didn't work out as well as he planned; it only took a few days for him to get sick of that routine--and sick of everything else. He holed himself up in an abandoned shack near the mountains, and that's where Spades found him.
Personality:
Vahan is quiet and introspective most of the time, but not too quiet to resist making a sarcastic quip every now and then, even in his 18 hours of sleep. Unfortunately, that introspection can cause a lot to build up, so he can be an irritable grouch at times. He likes to try to act dignified and distant, but he's really not, especially not when he likes you.
He's very smart, but gets distracted easily, and isn't the biggest fan of trying new things--that and his unwillingness to take responsibility are probably why he hasn't evolved yet. He'll get there, though; just might take some convincing.
SPADES
Honchkrow || Female
Nature: Rash
Characteristic: Quick-tempered
Moveset:
-Roost
-Drill Peck
-Brave Bird
-Foul Play
Age: Adolescent
Bio:
Spades worked hard to get where she's at. The runt of a nest of 7 bigger, badder birds sired by the flock's only Honchkrow, she spent most every day of her young life training in the hopes of one day challenging for the position of next-in-line, aiming to be the recipient of her flock's heirloom Dusk Stone--but it wasn't good enough. She was beaten out by her brother and sisters, and badly.
She swore she'd get them back, and shove it in their ugly bent-beaked faces.
So as a young Murkrow Spades left her flock, willing to risk ignoring her father's call and heading into the mountains to try and find another means of getting what she felt she was owed. Exhausting herself with weeks of searching heedlessly for a Dusk Stone to call her Dusk Own, she crash-landed by chance into Vahan's little shack, and found exactly what she was looking for.
No, not the dumb Abra. Whoever'd owned the shack beforehand--maybe even Vahan himself, she didn't care--had collected a metric shitton of valuables, and a whole bunch of those were valuable rocks. Dusk Stone included.
It wasn't so simple as nabbing it and running, though--the Abra, startled by the whole bird-dropping-out-of-the-sky thing, put up quite a fight to protect his improvised home... until he noticed his attacks barely scratched her with her type advantage, and figured maybe they could work out an agreement. She could have the rock, and could evolve, as long as she stayed with him long enough for him to get his psychic business under control. There was no risk of injury, he told her, and she could stay in his shack if she wanted; just had to stick around in case things got out of hand.
Of course, she agreed...... but dragged a reluctant Vahan out of the shack with her anyway once she got used to her new body. She couldn't stop now--if she wanted to get her sweet vengeance she couldn't just be a Honch, she had to be the best, and some introverted Abra wasn't going to stop her from getting there!
(Oh, and the exploration team thing, too. She figured it'd be some good exercise.)
Personality:
Bold, rash, and kind of violent, Spades is determined to get where she's going and get there fast. She hates entitled types, and often scolds Vahan for being born at his level of power and not putting it to good enough use. She's a bit of what one might call a "huge bitch", tending towards harsh and rude when talking to others, even those she's closest to. Even to them, she's not that close--she's blocked out most everything else in favor of pushing towards her goals and ignoring the damage it's done her.
