the title may betray the true meaning for this picture. it is a xenomorph, but the only experimentation is with the media at work here. this was done in my beginning art class as assigned with india ink, brush, wash and white colored pencil. this was just one of a few practice draws today using this new technique.i really went into it with a bad attitude, but i am glad i learned this style, its actually really nice
paper used was 19' x 24' bristol smooth 300 and although there was some bad warping it was large hills rather than wrinkles. its really fantastic paper to work on no matter how you figure it!
didn't have ref, just fell back on my multiple years playing with the toys as a youngin, so im not really worried if there is something wrong, this is how i see aliens
any crits you feel compelled to give i would rather be directed at the media instead of the subject content, but really i don't care too much, thats all i am trying to learn, thats all.

Some of my favorite Geigerish style is that which the artist puts his own part of himself and design into. It makes a well known subject unique and worthy of display. Wonderful work and fantastic gallery!!!!

That's pretty cool, there's definatly a human aspect of it's pose, like a sprinter on the blocks. This is actually the first Alien pic I've seen on DA. Don't know about you but Alien was the best film though Aliens is always my favourite, I love Private Hudson. Everything from Tactical Nuclear Warheads to sharp sticks.

I'm afraid I have not. As you well know, or maybe not, I don't generally go for those movies. They sound interesting, but not enough to spend money on.

For a second I thought the tail sickle was on his jaw.... would be sweet to see two giant incisors/sickles on a different kind of xenomorph form. Aside from that, not much to critique, well done. I guess the lighting is a bit off but... xenomorphs have some very wierd exoskeleton texture/color properties and I'm sure is extremely difficult to match as it is.

but seriously though, just black ink, nothing else, so it may be your monitor or my color correction or both, but yeah, i tried a few goes at making it transparent, with no luck
