Description Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) from Doctor Who. I did the hair at least three times to get the color right (apparently the yarn that looks best at night in indoor lighting looks nothing like the yard that looks best in daylight — the nerve!). I have to tell myself it’s a good thing Ten already sold so I can’t take a photo of them together, otherwise I’d be making a stupid joke about timey wimey nonsense.

This doll is for sale. Please see my list of premade dolls for prices and availability or my ordering info for more details. I do commissions too.

Finished Spring 2013.

How did you do his hair? I'm experimenting with a pattern I found but it's a giant doll and am unsure of what to do for the hair

Here's the hair tutorial I used when I first started. I still do hair more or less the same way when I want it to lie flat:

owly.wordpress.com/2007/08/27/…

When I either want long hair or hair that poofs out I still start from a hair cap, but I tie on short lengths of yarn using the knot that's used for latch hook rugs. The yarn tends to lean towards the direction the hook is inserted from, so with some experimenting you can get different textures depending on what direction you place the knots in.  You also don't need to tie yarn onto every last stitch of the haircap; I usually use between about 1/4 to 1/2 of the available stitches and the hair still has plenty of volume.

Also, depending on how chunky the yarn is versus how thick I want the strands of hair to be, I'll sometimes split apart the plies of the yarn to make thinner pieces.

Hope this helps!

Yours are just a different style is all.  The likeness is still good and you can tell who they all are.  Glad you like mine though!
