Description Ok, in my study for Exams I had this overwhelming urge to draw a dragon with realistic wings, so I drew the little one in the corner. Then I thought to myself, don't just draw Dragons; lets go on a Wing frenzy. So I drew a whole range of winged creatures to keep up the practice of wings; which can be very hard to draw.

So after a while I drew these 7 creatures, like some of my pictures this one is a guessing game.

Can you name the seven winged beasts (Given Letters for you convenience)?

Hint: A is a Dragon, I already told u that, but what type of Dragon.

We have got some answers, and they stand just:

A- Wyvern
B- Pegasus, the one and only (as I have been ordered to clear up)
C- Senmurv
D- Ampithere (or Coatl)
E- Manticore
F- Cockatrice (or Basilisk would have been accepted)
G- Garuda

Looks like C and G still stumped you all, good, that was my intention

I think D could also count for a wyvern, just a special one, but they all look cool

C looks like a Senmurv...

As for G, is it a Garuda?

*hopeful*

C and G you made up, as far as i can tell their not Mythological creatures....

C is just ur obsession with dogs reaching a new level (newest form of you Daemon prehaps??)...if you name it...go something like...Canquila (combination of latin for Dog and Eagle.

G is some sort of Bird man...i can think of demons and such that are similar, but no actual species...or it could be you simply redesigning something again..like...lets say...a Harpy?

No, C and G are not made up.. they are real mythical creatures

I do not have an obsession with dogs (that was a little harsh!), it is a real mythical being!! I have it written down in a book on my shelf.

G is a bird man so, if you are confused, have a look in some India mythology and you may find his name...

I would say G is Garuda (another "one and only"...), I'm surprised no one else guessed that yet.

As for C, this took some looking and I found some pretty cool mythological flashcards on Quizlet in the process [link] , I'm going to say Chamrosh! The less portrayed version, I guess, since most sources I came across are describing a dog body with bird head and wings.

*whew* That was fun!

Well done, G is a Garuda

However C is a creature known as a Simurgh, hard to get and is called by many different names (so you may indeed be right) [link]

Glad you enjoyed it

My appologies, I did indeed get my mythical creatures mized up!... hehe

The mythical snake with wings is called a Coatl, there is a body of Paradise with long tail feathers known as a Quetzal, and finally there is a great Aztec God which was a winged serpant called Quetzalcoatl.

So I think the Gods name is Quetzalcoatl but the creature itself is called a Coatl...

I will change that on the description right away, thanks

Quetzalcoatl means "plumed serpent" if I remember rightly.

I love quetzals, they're floofy

No I am sorry, G is not a Harpy Nice try though.

I have heard of an Equitaur, aren't they a Centaur with a horses head?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

SnapBanditWolf In reply to LeeDassin [2009-07-13 20:24:48 +0000 UTC]

does that make them a horse? XDD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LeeDassin In reply to SnapBanditWolf [2009-07-14 02:27:00 +0000 UTC]

In my opinion it makes them a centaur, I HATE cut-paste creatures so I think centaurs would have a more horse-like face and have been called Eqitaurs because people thought them a separate creature.

SnapBanditWolf In reply to LeeDassin [2009-07-14 21:05:04 +0000 UTC]

I didn't think they looked very human at all
I don't know much about centaurs. Only Cerberus and his siblings xD
