I remember someone describing this situation as something along the lines of a decision made by the older generation, which the younger generation don't even want.
Thankfully there is a petition for the referendum to be retaken (with over a million signatures last I checked and still growing), and the referendum itself is not finalised as there still needs to be a vote in parliament. Until then it doesn't have the force of the law behind it.
(EDIT: if you are, or anyone you know is, interested in the petition, it's here - petition.parliament.uk/petitio… uvub)

One of my British friends is actually happy that UK has left the EU but I didn't seem to be happy because what is UK going to do now?

I don't know...
They're already falling apart socially because some of the older generation think the younger ones are dumb for not understanding the 'benefits' of leaving...When the younger generation have to live with this and the older ones don't...It's already falling apart...
Funny thing is, some of the people who voted to leave regretted the vote because they didn't realise it meant leaving the EU itself.
It's shocking...

I heard about this on the News. I'm very sorry about that. Hopefully, things will turn out alright in the end.

I know it's sad, but all that remains is to go ahead. Things happen for a reason and never missing the rats in government (tells you someone who lives in a country full of snakes, frogs, sewer rats, crows and a huge pig as president in government) Don't cry, tears have never solved anything, but if you need to relieve your sorrows, it's ok

Don't worry, shed a few tears when you are sad is not bad, not solve anything but take away the pain that you have in your body. Support each other between the family and you'll see that the pain is no longer much.
