This is for 's Sailor Moon Reboot contest [link] . I thought of several different ideas before spotting my Romance of the Three Kingdoms book on my shelf and thinking, hm. this might work. So I scribbled and toyed with the idea forever and a day and blended SM with Dynasty Warriors.

And so this is what came of it.
Romance of the Moon Kingdom
It'd take place during the Silver Millenium.
Foreground you have warriors of the Moon Kingdom, the inner Sailor Senshi.
Background are the leaders of the three kingdoms
Queen Beryl of the Dark Kingdom
Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom
Prince Endymion of the Earth Kingdom

Of course there's war between the kingdoms.
Lots of war. Love and war. War and war.
But you can't have war without pretty costumes and cool weapons. Dynasty Warriors and Sengoku Basara taught me this.

Each one of Moon's warriors has a specific weapon and outfit suited to them.
Princess Serenity has a bladed chakram because it looks like a moon and I thought it would be cool to see her throw it. Her outfit is flowy and princesslike. I tend to prefer her pretty guardian colors, so have at it.
Mercury has a halberd. Now I have no idea what a halberd is called in Chinese, but in Japanese, it's a naginata. In early samurai days, the naginata was used to slash the shins of your enemies. Deadly and gruesome, suited for a tactician. She also wears armor and has bubbles for her shirt closures.
Mars is kinda stuck in the corner. I wanted her to have this amazing bow, but I ran out of room. She's wearing some armor for it, but I threw in her spell papers to make her a magic-wielding archer of doom.
Jupiter has a large fan, because I couldn't make lightning work. So wind = storm = thunderstorm = Jupiter. It worked for me. And I wanted a cute outfit with pink flowers on it.
Venus has a whip. Come on, this one was obvious. I always see Venus as being the more elegant one, so I gave her an elegant yet somewhat practical outfit. I love the hair. It's like a Gaga hair bow.

This was the first time I'd ever drawn a dragon. And the dragon on Jupiter's fan has to be the happiest dragon I've ever seen.

Also, if you can't see all the shading I did on the white, turn down the brightness of your monitor and look at it up close (in 3D!!!!). IDK why but LED monitors hate my shading work
