Description this is the statue which stands across the street from the LDS temple in Nauvoo. it represents Joseph and Hyrum Smith shortly before their death at carthage Jail.

Most of the statues I saw of Joseph in the Nauvoo area depict him not alone, but with family. To the end, he was not alone, even in death he was surrounded by friends and family. As we all should be. Don't be alone-- reach out to your friends and family.

This statue is wonderful during the day, but when I was there at night...with the lights shining on it and on the temple across the street...GORGEOUS!

I really like yours too. I'm putting a link here so others can look and compare. [link]

yours shows the statue from a little differant angle, and shows more context.
