Why do you think that?
Because of "The land of fire and ice?"

That's just what Iceland is often described as.

Right -- I thought it was a Game of Thrones reference. Oops. And that in conjunction w/ Dark Arch, which reminded me of Harry Potter, "defense against the Dark Arts" which is a course they have to take in Wizarding school...
Just goes to show you, any comment tells you more about the commentator than about the thing being commented on!

I could claim the Dark Arch was a clever play on words ...........but it wasn't
I like your reasoning but, alas, I wasn't thinking of fantasy when titling these pictures. 
I may well slip in the odd reference now you have mentioned it so stay on your toes.

Yes, it was great to see the ice and snow in July
Next time I go will be later in the year so I see more snow  
and fewer people

When I lived in Finland, at some point we had snow during my birthday, which is in June. It was surreal, but since I love snow, a wonderful birthday present!

We had snow in England once in June when I was at school.

I did for a couple years, and I loved it! Had some personal reasons for moving back to Holland, but I am very eager to move back out to Finland again.

I lived in the East of Helsinki, which is still the city but also has a lot of nature, it's absolutely stunning there. Five minute walk from one of my favourite and very versatile photography locations... I really miss that spot!

My brother has visited Finland a few times. He loves it
he likes to go there between Christmas and the New Year.
