Sorry for the late reply, I'm rarely on here. Mine is #1583258. I'm not really active on there either, don't really have the time, but feel free to add me! I'm more active on my flickr: [link]

Big fan of underwater photography, and this rocks! Are you using a housing on your slr or just a compact camera for these?

At the moment I'm using a Nikonos V with 15mm lens and an external strobe. I hope to get a housing for my D3 soon.

Well, clear plastic is a fine and shiny waterproof prop. Sheet vinyl from a construction supply store should do well underwater with the model behind / under it.

Nice shot, and good eye contact with the camera. Now, I wonder what effect having her pose behind a clear sheet of plastic underwater would have, with her looking at the camera through it and pressing her hand/finger against it - say a waist up shot.

Thanks mate, getting them to look natural underwater is the biggest challenge.

Woohoo! Another winner from you and your incredible models!
How did she manage to stand upright underwater? Were there weights involved, or did she just exhale all her air? (I'm wondering because I want to do an underwater shoot of my own, and any and all advice I can get is more than welcome.)

Thank you very kindly. Amie was wonderful & fun to work with and very comfortable in the water.
Yes, some weights were involved, and she did exhale some of her air. Be warned that it is dangerous to exhale all of the air from the lungs, as the increased pressure from the water can reduce the lungs below their minimum size and they will then fill with fluid as the body's defense mechanism to prevent the lungs from damage.
Wide angle lenses are a must for this type of photography, I used a 15mm on a full frame camera. An external stobe (2 is even better) is highly recomended.
Hope that helps, and if you've got anymore questions please don't hesitate to ask.
