an interpretation of mine.she is a tree spirit, part 1 of 8.
the rowan tree.
the rowan tree is all about protection and warding off evil, a highly magical tree. linked too with witchcraft and the goddess (of the hunt and wild things) Artemis.
identifying colours, red and grey.
the idea, image and its entirety is completely mine, please do not use without permission.

These are all that kind of weird spine tingly cool, where did the ideas come from? Are they based off of some culture's mythology or did you come up with their stories?

They're characters made up by myself based upon the magical meanings of each tree. I would say the culture behind it would be old english celts/ ancient Britains and Nordic.

It's a really cool characterization. I've always imagined trees as having a sort of spirit and intent, but to see that personified.
The tree climbing native in me is just very happy to see it.

i'm wondering as well... is this watercolor? it's so beautiful. I love the rest of the series as well, btw. your paintings all look as though they're a snapshot from an epic fantasy novel, with characters with a past, present, and foreshadowed future all in one painting.
