Thank you for taking the time to look. It was my first deviation after joining dA in 2006.
Thanks again

I've never knew how to use Photoshop, but I wonder why is this picture in scraps, if it's so nice and definetely can be published in that artwork section?
It has a balance... the size of the model, the colours of the background.
I really liked it.

Practice does make perfect.
That's what I've been doing about Photography. I've never taken any courses or anything, but I've learnt how not to shake while taking pictures, the best angles, learnt how to be patient to get that picture you want, wait to people leave the place. Things like that. As I'm studying to be a Journalist, I'm going to take classes soon about it and maybe, one day, I can work to National Geographic (my biggest dream ever).
And I was just saying what I thought about your picture. Really, I didn't see any mistake, so it really shouldn't be at scraps.

I have Photoshop7 but haven't used it much. I'm not familiar with all the features yet because I mainly use Paint Shop Pro. I did use it for this picture though. The tools are similar in both programs so that's a plus. I know about using the lasso tool to go around the edges. I use the feathering technique which tends to leave a 'halo' around the edges...that's not good. I need to learn how to use the History brush that you have described to erase the halo edges then maybe the picture will blend better with the background. Funny thing about this picture...I copied and pasted it after it was finished in different programs to see if it looked OK and it didn't look bad yet you were able to see all the flaws so I think what's happening is things appear fine on my computer but when it's looked at on someone else's computer/operating system/etc. it's not the perfect picture that it was on my computer. Lesson learned. I haven't a clue how to SEE the picture any other way except how it looks right here on my computer. Critiquing is necessary and good but it hurts when you think you've put your best foot forward only to find that it was a club foot.
