Description
The Pont Saint-Bénézet is the ruin of an arched bridge in the French city of Avignon. Built in the 12th century, the bridge was supported by 22 arches and was estimated to have a total length of about 915 m. It was the longest bridge in Europe. At that time it was considered the longest bridge in Europe. Four arches are still preserved today. The small chapel is dedicated to St. Bénézet.
