Really quick piece, mainly done because the desire struck me. These are the three protagonists from the main three Tortal quartets by one of my favourite authors, Tamora Pierce- drawn how I've always mentally thought of them as looking. They're very enjoyable fantasy books. The curly haired girl is Daine, the redhead Alanna (my favourite of the three) and the one on the right is Kel. I like how Kel turned out best. I kind of lost enthusiasm for this half way through... blame shoddyness on that.
By the way, I don't suppose anyone knows if there is a Tamora Pierce group on deviantART?

I've read the first Beka Cooper book - I enjoyed it, though it took a while to get used to. It was certainly something different.

Yup, although i don't recomend the second. Not as good. But i'm in LOVE with the first. Not enough rosto in the second.

I love although Kel is easily Idetifiable as a girl, she's not overly feminine. She's most definitely my favorite, although I'm in love with Alanna too. I wish we were told who she ended up with D: But anyway, the drawing is amazing. Daine's wavy hair turned out great

I'm glad you like it - it's a super old picture now so I'm not proud of it, but it meant a lot to me at the time. I like Kel a lot - and I really like that she doesn't end up with anyone at the end of the POTS series, actually^^

Very nice! I like the way you drew Kel, but I like Daine the best character wise.
But Alanna is always a favorite. I love her daughter Aly, though.

I'm not so fond of Daine characterwise - I don't dislike her, but I find the palace bound books more interesting, which is why I like Alanna's series the best. Probably I find Kel the most interesting character, though.
Yes, I found a Tamora Pierce group - ~LionessRampant . It's sadly not very active now. There are two other groups that formed later, though - ~Tamora-Pierce-Fans and ~tortallandbeyond .

i like her becaus eshes not perfect, shes not helped by magic, nor favoured by the gods. i love how she hates puberty and falls in and out of love with guys.. she is the most relateable character i reckon, apart from the whole no feelings and super strong, plus really tall..... hehehehehehe

Absolutely. That's why I like Kel, too - she has no special abilities, but gets to where she wants to be regardless of that. I think she's the best role model out of TP's heroines, too.
I don't like Aly and Daine so much, though I will always have a soft spot for Alanna.

eh .. too me Alanna was too perfect .. it doesnt help that i read daines books first .. so she was like my favourite for a year and i only really read about alanna before Beka came out !!! i know shocking Right???

Funny, I've heard a few people say that Alanna was too perfect - I never thought of her that way. I think which characters you like does depend a little on which book series you read first, though, like you say - I read Daine's after Alanna's and never liked them as much.

but alanna i admire most.
i like Aly, taking after he father, i think kel is my least favourite. just because she doesnt seem quite as adventurous as the rest, just a girl bored with her life.

I'll agree with you about admiring Alanna most-- she's really a legend, and she's certainly inspiring. I actually really like Kel. I think she's the most realistically draw of Tamora's heroines, and the one I identify with the most, as the whole point with her is that she is a normal person, rather than a legend. Aly and Daine I'm less fond of... maybe because I'm a much greater fan of SOTL and POTS than Daine and Aly's series.

immortals was the first lot i read. so i think it will always be my favourite. if i had read them in order it would definately be alanna, its such a close call now.

OMG! Kel looks perfect! Daine and Alanna look great, too ^^ I personally think Daine is my favorite of the Tortall women. Although Aly (Alanna's daughter) is really fun. Have you read "Trickster's Choice" and "Trickster's Queen" yet?

I've read Trickster's Choice! I thought Aly was a fun and inventive heroine- though I didn't like the book too much. I loved it when she had blue hair! my favourite, overall, is Alanna, for mostly sentimental reasons. I respect Kel a lot, though. Daine I have to say is probably my least favourite. But SQUEE!
