Steven Spielberg as director of a Starcraft would result in a shit movie like Transformers was, and going out of original history. Spielberg is great, but is better for other genres or films. I prefer Zack Snyder (Watchmen), or Joss Whedon (Avengers) for Starcraft.
I don't want to see Tom Cruize in Starcraft too... while he is a great actor, but i think he doesn't fit on that.

while i like the idea of a Starcraft movie, i think u need someone a lil taller and a lil grittier for the main character of Starcraft. Viggo Mortenson would make a AWESOME Jim Raynor, though if u gave Cruise a beard he would make a great Mengsk... and Justin bieber should play Valerian... lol

Most of the best films i've ever seen had unknown actors, you don't need superstars for quality, that's just so you get the general mook masses to go see it
And Starcraft isn't exactly a mook IP, at least not in the western world.
