Description On the fourth planet of the Altair system, a Split-winged Thornfalcon, (Accipiter bifurcatus), rides the rising air current high above the coastal forest of the largest continent, in search of its prey.

The projections on the leathery wings are thought by some xenobiologists to be sensory organs of some sort, though their purpose is yet to be discovered.

They are extremely dangerous, and pose a threat to animals both large and small.

This is a combination of two fractals, both generated with Mandelbulb 3D, layered and manipulated with GIMP.

The bird was developed from Hal Tenny's excellent Mandelbulb tutorial [link]

The size is suitable for 1280*1024 wallpaper by reducing it to half size.
