1. Rough sketch
2. Detailed sketch
3. Painting a "mask" over the sketch
4. Adding shadows and light
5. Rough colour
6. Painting details, adujsting colour, adding highlights and reflected light, etc.

ouh, thanks I painted this guy with PS CS3, completly digital, but I draw some ideas down with a pencil to get a general idea of his design
