So my life kind of consists of rereading the Soul Eater mangas until I save up enough money for the next volume when it is released, reading the new mangas I get after that, and then rewatching the anime because it is perfaction. I'm not gonna lie- I literally rewatch or reread some type of Soul Eater at least once every three days... I've been in this fandom for over a year, and so by now I've done that waaaaaaaaay too many times... Anyways, I recently read the Book of Eibon story arc and naturally, had some thing I wanted to draw from the 'Lust' chapter.

First off- I need to wonder- does the Lust chapter even work on gay people?? I mean, you get your gender switched because you have desires for the opposite sex, so does anything even happen if you're gay? And also, if you get transformed based on what you have lust for, would that also mean that you look a lot like what your 'type' of preferred partner would be, or maybe would you look a little like your crush? Oh ma Death, I have so many questions about how this works that I wish Okubo would have answered.

But I like the idea that when your gender is switched, you'll look a little like your crush (or that if you're gay, your physical appearance just shifts slightly to look closer to your crush), and that got me thinking of all the ship material you get if you buy into that theory.

Firstly, there's Blackstar. Haha- Liz describes female Blackstar as 'clueless bimbo' which also could be a derogatory way of describing (regular) Patty. And fem!Blackstar's hair looks about as close to Patty's as it can, just spikier. Plus, there's Blackstar's 'gigantic boobs' (although I'm not really sure if I think gender-bent boob size is determined by the chest size the guy in question finds attractive or if it's correlated to a certain, um.... male part.....) that are also reminiscent of Patty. And male!Patty openly states that all he really wants to do is start a fight or beat the living daylights out of someone, and that just screams Blackstar to me. Also, male!Patty wears a beanie. I might be wrong on this part, but the only other guy I remember wearing a beanie is this manga was Blackstar in that episode in which he gets back from the Arachnophobia thing to deliver Maka a candy from Mifune. Their creepy, cocky smiles also look vaguely alike to me, although that might just be the author's style. XD

Whatever. Bascially, I like using the Lust chapter as a reason to justify ships just because it's there---- not because it's correct.

I'm not too happy with the shading on Blackstar cuz its waaay too patchy and I'm not fond of the coloring of this peice overall. It just seems like I didn't have any of the right colors. Hope you people like it. Leave a comment below, because I'm lonely. I'll have more of these genderbend things up later. I've got a KidMa one ready to start posting after I upload this, and I may or may not draw a Soul/Anya one later. Peace! Bai!
