If you would like to create better images I would suggest shooting with simple but better light setting and if possible without flash. Direct flash light flattens the shapes and colors. This is relevant to most of your images.

I am not suggesting a big investment here. You can look around the house to find some light fittings (desk lamps, etc. even unused florescent tube fittings). Change the bulbs to 100 W or 150 W equivalent energy savers and direct them at 45 degrees from both directions and keep your main light source on as well. See if the last one needs a stronger light bulb. Make sure they are placed close enough but are out of shooting view. If lights produce shiny surfaces and too dark shadows, have some white bed sheets hanging in front of them. This way you will have more soft flood light.
For backgrounds you can use another neutral color (light beige or white) bed sheet.
You do not require a larger space for what you are doing right now.
Any digital camera can make decent quality images. Use tripod or put a camera on something stable to avoid blurry images and read basic user manual to assist with better quality image shooting.
About poses - think like an artist and make some interesting compositions. Artists will love this.
Browse internet for simple shooting and lighting advice and in no time you will be the star producing the best stock images on the net.
Good luck!
