Description I mostly took isolations of this area because of the fallen trees across the falls. This will most likely go into my scraps, but someone asked to see the area in a wider view. So, here it is!

Blackwater Falls State Park, WV

Thanks! This reminded me of some of your Oregonian (is that right?) waterfalls.

pfft, trees... look like twigs to me! shoulda just picked em up and tossed them out of the way! you would be devastated at some of the falls over here...

i do like this shot even with the, ahem, trees. gives it another level of the reality of nature, beautiful, but not always perfect.

feel free to hide this comment if this doesnt go to scraps..

I'm not hiding anything, your comment stays.

The trees/twigs actually bigger than they look. I did try to move the lower one, but it extends waaaay beyond what you see. I just couldn't move it. And speaking of the twigs, this is all second growth forest out here, so we don't have giant trees like you. WV was pretty much completely logged many years ago.

arghhh. Why didn't they add an edit button in the upgrade

That's awesome you tried to move it! I really need to bring a saw on my outings but think i would feel bad afterwards..

2nd growth you say?! Looking pretty healthy! I feel lucky for the National Forest service and there conservation efforts. 1,724,229 acres of wilderness area and that's just from North of Mt Rainier to the Canadian border..

You are lucky! They're trying to let a lot of our forest go back to wilderness areas, but I'm sure it's nothing like what you have up in WA. I bet it's amazing.

This is really nice! Did you have a slower shutter speed for the water, or is that just how your camera did it? It's really cool!

Thanks. The shutter speed was 1/2 second.
