a painting I made inspired by the fairy tale The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen.The Little Mermaid longs to rise from the watery depths of the ocean up to the light and warmth of the sun.
I tried to incorporate a little bit of the green/red scheme in the Disney movie by adding subtle shades of red and green to her hair and tale, while still remaining true to the original tale.
The original is extremely sparkly. I used a lot of iridescent Daniel Smith watercolours throughout the whole painting.
