Meet Dr Cassidy Goldman – my RP character from a long time ago.
You can tell a lot about Cassie… and read if you are patient enough to go through all the paragraphs below ; )

But, if you are not so much of a patient type, let me introduce her in a shorter way:

Name: Cassidy Goldman

Date of birth: 23 August 2341, Trill

Occupation: doctor

Is: self-confident, intelligent, reliable, protective, arrogant, sarcastic,

Can be: a good friend, an exceptionally mean enemy

What does she love? herself, shoes, her family (she rarely likes them though), medicine, Cardassians

What does she like? money (Really? What kind of Starfleet officer is she?), aliens

What does she dislike? poor and dirty people (Julian, Nerys brought some labour camp workers again, could you possibly take care of them instead of me?), children (apart from Martin and Lilith [link] )

What does she hate? Rigid working hours, Starfleet shoes

What is she afraid of? Corpses (but it’s actually great as she always really tries to keep all her patients alive)

And now the longer version:

Cassidy was born into a filthy rich (to say the least) family of lawyers, doctors and entrepreneurs, whose hotels and clinics could be found throughout the quadrant, as the future heiress of their fortune located on Trill. For this reason the girl was to be born on this planet (to get its citizenship and avoid some inheritance taxes). Unfortunately, although there was no sign of it, Cassie decided to arrive into this world prematurely and achieved her goal somewhere near to the Trill boarder (yup, she eventually got the citizenship).

Cassidy was a hardly pretty girl and, what is worse she wasn’t very nice either. However, thanks to her intelligence and being exceptionally cunning she could always get whatever she wanted. Cass ruled over her siblings (John and Amanda [link] ) and considered other children to be lower creatures unworthy of her attention.

Cassidy was absolutely fascinated with biology and medicine. She loved to read and learn. Besides, when she was seven, in secret from the rest of her family, she started to observe the surgeries performed in her grandfather’s clinic from the gallery.
When she was nine, her family moved from Betazed to Earth, where she met her first friends - children of former Cardassian special agents who escaped from their homeworld and started to work for the Goldmans (they were acquiring information about their competition). It was then that Cass got interested in Cardassian culture.

At the age of fifteen, Cassidy returned to Trill, where she graduated from high school. It was also there, where she underwent several plastic surgeries performed by her grandfather. Four years later, pretty, but still not very nice Cassie joined the Starfleet Academy on Earth where, for the entire time she was the best student of the year. Cassidy wasn’t a born soldier, but only thanks to the Starfleet she could boldly go where no man has gone before.

After graduating from the Academy (good grades, money and quite numerous affairs with admirals’ sons make a pretty good combination) the world was her oyster and Cassidy Goldman was assigned to USS Enterprise, where she got her Ph.D. Then, to the surprise of Dr Crusher she asked for a transfer to DS9. The station was the fulfillment of her dreams. Both Casrdassia and the Gamma Quadrant were within her reach.

After the incident with Rugal, Cassidy started to cooperate with Gul Dukat. In secret from the Starfleet she removed all the evidence of Dukat’s guilt and, in return, received the data (extremely valuable to the Goldmans, who also did business with Cardassians) concerning the families that “lost” their children. At the same time and, in this case officially, she raised funds for the children, so they could get a proper education in Federation colonies.

Dr Goldman’s caring side came to light again, when her mirror universe counterpart arrived at DS9 and Cassidy took care of her and her children (Martin and Lilith [link] ).

Cassidy also helped the Goldmans to enter the Bajoran market, when her acquaintanceship (and later relationship) with Prime Minister Shakaar turned out to be very useful.

Lt Goldman served in the Starfleet until the war with the Dominion. When the Dominion came into the station Cassidy refused to evacuate because of her family and properties (that she co-owned) on Bajor. Captain Sisko decided to let her stay. She was to temporarily leave the Starfleet and hoped that Dukat (who had been her friend since the orphanage incident) wouldn’t arrest nor kill her.

Thanks to this agreement Cassidy stayed on the station, but didn’t join the “resistance” and tried to remain as neutral as possible. She worked in the clinic and spent a lot of time with Ziyal and Weyoun. After the Dominion left DS9, to the many officers' surprise, she didn’t return to Starfleet. However she did stay on DS9 as a civilian doctor until the end of the war. After that she became the chief of a clinic belonging to her family.
