well, the border: first, i duplicated the manip (after that all was merged down)and resized the new layer; then added a contour (dubble-clicking the layer/layer style window) and over the layer with the contour i added new layers for the borders; merged the borders and added contour again. then merged it all.
i don't know if get it... but i was experimenting, and that was the result.
