If Marvel can have characters from the 40s, 90s and so on, why not have a heroine from the 80s? Leotard, belt, headband, big hair, lip gloss, it's all there and I love it all. Undoubtedly her theme music is very synth pop!

So here is a background story I came up with.

Operation Report

23 January 1988

On 3 October 1987, RV Atlantis was ordered to launch and repair Reconnaissance Satellite RS-8. The mission was and remains Top Secret, with no notification to media or the public about the mission. On day two, mission specialist Mia Berglin and payload specialist Thomas Spencer were engaged in an EVA while repairing RS-8. Crew inside RV Atlantis reported seeing a ripple of light approaching the vehicle. The written statement of Commander William Jones states that he saw the bodies of Berglin and Spencer twisted in the unknown event and disappear. RS-8 was destroyed during the event. Per the crew, all remains of RS-8 were retrieved. Further investigation shows that only parts of RS-8 were retrieved. Remains of Berglin and Spencer were not found. Limited remains of their EVA suits were retrieved. The mission was scrubbed and RV Atlantis with remaining crew returned to base without further event.

After investigation, it is determined that the event is unknown, with the present location of Berglin and Spencer unknown. Hypotheses include micro-wormhole activity, unknown foreign intervention, or deceit of the crew. Case remains open.
