Description
When Dipper and Mabel were first sent to live with their great uncle Stan for the summer, Mabel wanted to find mermaids, and Dipper scoffed at the idea. Mermaids aren't real! the boy insisted.
Then he fell off the cliff and into the ocean,
And the golden siren saved his life.
For the next seven years Dipper would visit the golden siren in the fish pond every day of the summer until it was time to go home--and then one year he stopped coming. The siren waited, and waited, but no one came.

It was foolish to wait; he had never cared about the boy anyway, so why should he be upset? he tried to tell himself as he swam away.
Years went by.
The boy never came back.
Life in the ocean went on.
And then one day the boy returned.

But now the boy was a man.

The siren was delighted. Triangulum hot dangulum. This was a sizable human he could eat. This was good.
But what if, instead...he made the man into a siren like him? He would give the human a choice; be eaten, or be his companion.
And so he sang.
And the boy came.

And for the first time in 13 years, Dipper saw the siren completely.
